Course/Seminar page editing overview
Course Page This image shows a scaled down representation of a Course Page or Seminar page.

Within it there are 4 editable sections, customisable for each Course and although very easy to modify without having any previous web building experience, close attention should be paid when editing all areas.

The 5 editable sections include:

  • Header
  • Introduction
  • Course content
  • Discussion

You’ll find below a series of accordian sections that expand to explain how each section should be modified.
Please take the time to review these sections and continue to refer back to them if you are uncertain of what to do.

*Note: All pages of this Course Site incorporate a ‘Visual Builder’ that makes editing for ‘non web developers’ much easier and is available to admin users via the ‘Enable Visual Builder’  button at the very top of the page. (see highlighted in black bar at top of image)

Please refer to the sections below for detailed editing guides.

1. Header section editing

The video above shows the simple approach to customising the Header section which includes modifying the Header text and replacing the main image:

First thing is to click on the ‘ENABLE VISUAL BUILDER’ button  Enable Visual Builder  (at the top of the page) to open up the editing mode.

Immediately you’ll notice that the Header area is surrounded by a BLUE section box, rolling over this section will reveal a GREEN outlined area that designates the ROW your content sits in and a GREY outlined area that holds your content.

It is generally only the GREY content areas that you’ll need to edit but in this Header section we’ll also need to make a change in the BLUE area to replace the image.

Replacing the Header text:

  • Rollover and Click within the GREY area to reveal the editing bar.
  • Select the Cog editing symbol Cog button.
  • Highlight the Title Text that appears in the editing window and replace with your text.
  • Select the GREEN tick button to Save the content change.
  • Click the Visual Builder SAVE and exit the Visual Builder.

Replacing the Header image:

You’ll notice that the Header placeholder image of the Monkey shows a sizing guide for your header image.
1200 x 650 pixels and a file size of around 100 kbs or less is advised.
If you have the ability to save your image to this size before loading to the site that would be beneficial.

  • Begin by clicking the ‘Enable Visual Builder’ button Enable Visual Builder to open up the editing mode.

Unlike the Homepage, The image in this case exists as a background image in the BLUE Section so we will only be editing the BLUE section to replace the image.

  • Rollover the section to reveal the BLUE editing panel Editing panel.
  • Click on the Cog symbol Editing cog
  • Select the BACKGROUND tab
  • Click on the IMAGE tab
  • Select the image
  • Click on Upload Files / Select Files and browse to where you have your image stored on your computer.
  • Select OPEN or UPLOAD
  • Next give the image an alt description for accessibility purposes – i.e. Monkey but something more appropriate to your chosen image
  • Set the alignment to CENTRE
  • set the size to FULL SIZE
  • and hit Upload Image

Your new image will appear.

  • Select the GREEN tick button to Save the content change
  • Click the Visual Builder SAVE and exit the Visual Builder.

Your Header has now been updated
